Born Cori Dionne Gauff on March 13, 2004, in Delray Beach, Florida, Coco Gauff has been a tennis prodigy, expressing her ambition to become the best player in the world from a very young age.

Raised by parents who were collegiate athletes, Coco was exposed to the world of sports early on. She started intensive tennis training at seven and, showing signs of promise; her family moved to a location known for the best tennis training camps to nurture her aspirations. Coco’s journey to prominence was marked by her historic win against Venus Williams at Wimbledon at just 15, heralding her entry into international tennis. By 13, she was already making records as the youngest U.S. Open junior girls finalist, and her journey since then has been nothing short of extraordinary, with her serves reaching 120 miles per hour.

Despite experiencing setbacks such as first-round ousts at prestigious tournaments, her determination and continuous improvement are evident. Coco Gauff competed for her first Grand Slam title in the 2022 French Open finals against Iga Swiatek and won four tournaments since turning professional in 2018.

Coco’s remarkable victory at the 2023 U.S. Open was a pivotal moment for her and the sport, marking her first Grand Slam victory and placing her alongside tennis legends like Tracy Austin and Serena Williams.
